Ganesha, also spelled Ganesa or Ganesh, is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, Lord of beginnings, patron of arts and sciences, God of intellect and wisdom. He is the son of God Shiva and Parvati.
Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Buddhists, and beyond sub-continent of India. His image is found throughout India, Tibet, Nepal, South-East and East Asia.
